Dr Chung Fai, Ng is part of the second generation of our family’s marine fabric business and is our founder’s eldest son. At Sing Kee, Chung Fai worked with our father on making structural frame work for boat cover projects. In late 1970s, he began to create his own carpentry products for the family and our factory while he was only a teenager. His devotion to superior quality and craftsmanship earning an esteemed reputation as one of the most youthful and most passionate person in structural engineering disciplines. As our factory have grown rapidly over the years, but Chung Fai always remain committed to offering the same personal, bespoke experience that he did back in those early days.
Dr Ng obtained his BSc.(Eng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 1981. He was awarded with MSc. in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College of University of London in 1982. He earned his Ph.D. in Sound and Vibration Engineering from University of Southampton in United Kingdom in 1986.
Dr Ng began his career as a research assistant in 1982 at University of Southampton in United Kingdom. In later years, he became a visiting scientist for Laboratory testing for air/noise control properties of materials, panel in United States. He is also a well-known spacecraft engineer between 1990 and 1991 for Satellite Telecommunication equipment monitoring and maintenance, selection. After he returned Hong Kong, he has been involved in Air/Noise impact assessment for new industrial/residential projects. Dr Ng has been the Associate Professor of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1991 and he left in 1993. Thereafter he set up CF Ng & Associates Limited.
Dr Ng is our bridge between two worlds: the scientific and the commercial. He takes the magic of our science and makes it work on an industrial scale. Dr Ng started to serve as Director of Sing Kee Sail and Flag Company Limited since 1990. He has extensive leadership and project management experience and his enthusiasm for product development, making manufacturing and production of upholstery more interesting. He partners closely with his two sisters, Janice and Jaime on the strategic growth vision and objectives of our business.
